Verify a JWS signature (Compact or General JSON)

Accepts a JWS token in either Compact Serialization (String) or General JSON Serialization (Map).
Extracts the kid and signature algorithm from the protected header,
verifies the signature, and returns the Base64-encoded payload plus key metadata.
Supports both SIMPLE keys (Compact JWS) and COMPOSITE keys (General JSON).

200Signature verification completed.

400Bad Request: • Malformed JWS or missing jws field, OR • Key does not support the requested operation (e.g., trying to verify with a sign-only key)

401Unauthorized: missing or invalid JWT token.

404Not Found: key not found or unsuitable for verification.

409Conflict: key is in a disallowed state (e.g., revoked).

413Payload Too Large: JWS string exceeds 5 MB.

422Unprocessable Entity: malformed JWS (parse error in Compact or General JSON format).

500Internal Server Error: unexpected error during verification.
